(Makes 2 servings)
1 cup milk
1 cup whipping cream
2 tbsp. cacao powder
1 plain 70% dark chocolate bar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
a dash ground Cayenne pepper
1-2 tbsp. honey
- Chop fine or grate the chocolate bar.
- In a small mixing bowl, stir together cacao and spices.
- Adding a small amount of the milk, whisk into a paste.
- In a saucepan, slowly heat the milk and cream and when the liquid just starts to move from the heat, slowly add the paste to the saucepan and simmer until slightly thickened, stirring.
- Again look for the liquid to just starts to move before boiling, remove from heat. Add the chopped chocolate and honey and whisk until it's completely melted and incorporated.
- Pour into mugs and add more honey to your taste.
