2 cups cooked Great Northern beans
4 strips of bacon
1 small onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
pepper and poudre douce to taste
- Fry bacon in a saucepan until crispy.
- Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon, and saute the onions and garlic in the fat until the onions are translucent and tender.
- Add the beans and cook over low heat for ???, to give the fat a chance to soak into the beans, stirring constantly.
- Reintroduce the bacon and cook another ??? minutes to blend everything together.
- Add pepper and poudre douce to taste and serve warm with crusty bread.
